Edgar David HALL was born in Camberwell, South London, and then moved to Islington, North London, close to the borders of Hackney and Stoke Newington. Educated in Highbury, he naturally supported his local football team, Arsenal.
On leaving school, armed with 5 GCE 'O' Levels (real exams!), he joined Westminster Bank at its Finsbury Park branch, later transferring to the Aldersgate Street branch. He then joined a merchant bank in 'the city', Cassell Arenz & Co. Ltd, part of the First National Finance Corporation. 'First National' moved out to Kenton, Harrow, and underwent several crises and metamorphoses, and, at the time of his retirement, was part of the Abbey National group.
Ed followed First National to Harrow, himself moving to Bushey, in the wilds of Hertfordshire. He met Ann at work, and they got married and moved to Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, where their children, Mark and Cheryl, were born. Ed completed the Part I Diploma of the Institute Of Bankers through study at night classes. In the late 70s, the family moved back to Hemel Hempstead, and have been there ever since.
Now retired, Ed's main interests are football, music, photography, travel, and he has a small aviary in the garden.
And if, before Ed retired, anyone had said to him: “One day, you’ll go on tour with a rock band.”, he’d have said they were completely mad. Instead, look here.
Ed has also now joined MySpace, and FaceBook.
