Ann Sylvia Lalonde was born in Edgware, North-West London, and lived in Harrow for most of her single life. After several jobs, she joined First National Securities in Harrow, where she met Ed.

They got married in Harrow, and moved to Aylesbury, and for a while they both travelled in to Harrow to work every day. When Mark and Cheryl were born, Ann took a number of evening and/or weekend jobs, while Ed continued to travel to Harrow, until the family moved to Hemel Hempstead, and just before the kids started school. Unfortunately, good permanent jobs were hard to come by, and, for a long time the agencies preferred to send her to temporary posts rather than find her a permanent job, as this would lose them commission. Fortunately, she found a permanent job locally though a personal contact.

Her present interests are reading, and helping out at the local hospice.
